Shape specifications

Milling is one of the last step of the fabrication process of the PCB. It consists in cutting the outline and inner shapes of the PCB with a milling tool.

Note : This is not an option, no additional fees will be charged.

Important :

. Provide an outline file with the GERBER files (General standard name: *.gko)
. Do not mill copper, minimal distance from board's edge: 0,3 mm (Fig.PSS1-A).
. Holes (NPTH) with a diameter > 4.5 mm and complex shapes are milled (Fig.PSS1-B/C).
. Holes (PTH) with a diameter > 10 mm are milled. More informations on milled holes in the menu "Drilled and milled holes"
. Material density and thickness make it mandatory to use appropriate milling tool sizes (minimal sizes), please refer to tables below.

Default milling tool size : 1,6 mm

SHAPE ADVICES

In the case of slots milled in the PCB, it is not possible to obtain a perfectly square angle.

The radius of the angle depends on the size of the milling tool used when milling the slot.

Taili provides 3 different milling tool sizes :

. 1,6 mm

. 0,8 mm

. 0,6 mm

Material density and thickness make it mandatory to use appropriate milling tool sizes (minimal sizes), please refer to tables below.

To obtain perfect square angles, we suggest to mill four circles in the corners of the internal cut  .

This lets a space to insert a perfect rectangle into as shown in the picture.
